Warner Bros. is going on a delisting spree again, this time pulling a host of Cartoon Network-licensed games from digital storefronts. As first spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, some of the games that have been delisted so far include Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest, Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, OK K.O.! LetFree Bonus‘s Play Heroes, Steven Universe: Save the Light, and Steven Universe: Unleash the Light. We should review the facts first: Angela Orosco is 19, she’s unhappy, and she has a knife.Since Konami debuted the melancholic character in Silent Hill 2’s original 2001 release, these facts have been both true and disturbing. But developer Bloober’s 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake imbues Angela with solemn dignity, too, a transformation that means more to me in a yeaCasino Onliner when people were especially weird about women in games. For months, some Silent Hill fans and self-described gaming purists argued that Bloober’s Angela looks too soft, too young, not pretty enough to feel the chasmic pain inside of her. They preferred how Angela appeared 23 years ago, when her face was severe and bloodless in an apparent demonstration of how raggedly trauma ages you.Up to a point, their position is understandable. Angela’s life has been a nightmare. Throughout Silent Hill 2, as Angela dives in and out of the game’s sea of fog, she increment…
My favorite part of the Steam Next Fest demo for Ale Abbey is when people call me “your Maltiness”, and that’s saying a lot, because the whole demo is a lot of fun.Ale Abbey is an upcoming tycoon game with a twist: you’re in charge of a brewery run by Catholic monks. When you arrive at your monastery, you’re met by its bishop, who tasks you with expanding “our holy brewing mission”. Specifically, he wants you to help him build a thriving brewery that’ll make your monastery the most popular around. Fortunately, he walks you through that process step-by-step through a number of tutorials, starting with setting up a desk and formulating your first ale recipe. At this point, your options are severely limited to just one type of light ale, but you’ll eventually be able to brew more than 20 European styles of ale, which you can tweak with various optional ingredients to unlock special attributes. You’ll also be able to adjust the price, quantity, quality, and mash temperature of your br…
Breakneck open-world action game V.A Proxy has been on my radar for over a year now, so I was eager to try its updated demo this Steam Next Fest. It’s still unpolished, but creator PyroLith has cooked up an intriguingly bizarre, unapologetically absurd combo fiesta capable of seemingly limitless spectacle. The demo for V.A Proxy is rough around the edges. I wouldn’t bother with a controller, for one, as it seems to mess up the menus and inputs. That said, the default keyboard and mouse controls are actually solid, though the camera feels a little too close and a touch slow given how fast this game wants you to go. There’s very little direction or guidance – perhaps intentionally – so it’s easy to feel lost. But once I got a sense of where to go and what to do, swiftly falling down a hole and then striking out on a journey as a souped-up robot in a crumbling, retro mech world, it all started to click. The point, I gather, is to go anywhere you want and do the stupi…
An unprecedented leak has hit mainline Pokemon series developer Game Freak, revealing tons of previously unknown information about unused monsters, unannounced projects, and a potential Switch 2 codename.Game Freak acknowledged the situation in a statement posted to its website earlier this week, where the studio apologized to employees about potentially sensitive data being leaked by an unnamed third party, while confirming that it’s secured its servers and is currently working to improve its backend security. For all of those just tuning in, we’re currently covering the Game Freak Teraleak.Lots of source files and beta content for past Pokémon games are currently leaking, along with a few details on upcoming projects. We expect more information to be uncovered in the coming hours… pic.twitter.com/KdoJ4G87SbOctober 12, 2024Details from the leak, which is said to include gigabytes of information, are still spilling onto social media, however. Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s extensive character creator has been a hot topic leading up to the RPG sequel’s release, but one former BioWare lead has come to the game’s defense. Responding to a tweet questioning the point of character creators in general – which itself was in response to a tweet about The Veilguard – former Star Wars: The Old Republic combat designer and current Boss Fight creative director Damion Schubert argued there’s “a sizeable number of players who spend huge amounts of time in character creation… some will spend more than an hour there.” He even pointed to the ludicrous Baldur’s Gate 3 stats that revealed players spent a collective 8,196 years making their own protagonists.Hi. Game designer here. I’ve seen the metrics. While it’s not just you, there is a sizable number of players who spend huge amounts of time in character creation. Some will spend more than an hour there.(Thread) https://t.co/cai7tZH7xjSeptember 23, 2024Schubert explains that …
Nexon, the developer and publisher behind MMOs like The First Descendant, doesn’t rely on a game’s potential profit to ensure its success – instead, the company looks to the “raw voices of users” while working on new titles. As reported and translated by Automaton, Nexon CEO Yong-hyun Park describes why feedback is valuable in a recent interview with 4Gamer. When asked how the studio assesses any potential games, Park reveals a process that involves users’ direct opinions rather than any analysis of market data or profit predictions – and this is partially due to a lack of prior solid examples of similar releases to look back to, at least in South Korea.”If it’s an MMORPG, we can roughly imagine how it will perform,” Park states. “However, when it comes to titles like Blue Archive or The First Descendant, neither my company nor I personally have experience making and releasing such games to the market, and even in Korea, these kinds of games have hardly been made up until no…
Is there a little Witcher in your life? Perhaps an unseasonably young fan of Geralt of Rivia, or a kid who wants to know what their parents’ favorite book/video game/streaming franchise is all about? Well you’re in luck, because CD Projekt Red, the creators of the Witcher video game series, are teaming up with Penguin Random House to make Little Witcher a reality in the form of an all-ages graphic novel illustrated by Giada Carboni.Little Witcher doesn’t quite get into Muppet Babies territory (though a tiny lil Geralt of Rivia does sound strangely adorable). Instead it focuses on an all-ages telling of the training of young Ciri, Geralt’s adopted daughter, as the venerable monster hunter teaches her in the ways of being a Witcher – and tries to get her to go to bed on time. “Young Ciri’s extensive training at Kaer Morhen, the witchers’ stronghold, includes everything she needs to learn to survive the many threats in her world . . . as well as all the antics and fun of a li…
Light No Fire is going to be one of the biggest games ever made. And I don’t just mean that from an anticipation perspective, because this new title from Hello Games is looking to render an entire planet to scale. I know, it doesn’t sounds possible – but if the meticulous expansion of No Man’s Sky has taught us anything it’s that you should never underestimate Hello Games. Light No Fire is an adventure set across one procedurally-generated multiplayer Earth, a true open world where all players work to explore the space together. It’s wildly ambitious, built to capture the sort of fantasy adventures that helped propel The Lord of the Rings into legend. So what you’ll want to do is keep on reading to find everything you need to know about Light No Fire, just don’t be surprised if your mind starts to unravel with all of the possibilities. After getting through it myself, I’m really hoping that it’s one of the new games for 2025. Light No Fire release date speculation Hell…
